Overview of Morgantown Parent Center Minimize

Morgantown Elementary Title I Parent Center serves parents of Title I children in fifth and sixth grade. The Center began in 1987 and has been a model for other schools. The Title I Parent Center is designed to bring the home and school closer together by promoting parent involvement with school personnel in the education of their child. The basic goal of the center is to enable parents to work effectively with their children at home in order to improve academic performace at school. The Center provides a wide variety of instructional material, equipment, such as computers, videos, software and tapes. The Center also provides workshops, information and support.

 

Parent Center Resource Hours

7:30a.m.-3:00p.m.  (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday)
9:30a.m.-5:30p.m.  (Thursday)

What's Expected of the Parent in Parental Involvement. Minimize
  • Know what your child likes most and least about school.
  • Keep up with your child's progress throughout the entire year.
  • Set attainable goals for your child and let the teacher know what those goals are.
  • Help or get help for your child with homework.
  • Know your child's friends and their habits.
  • Share personal experiences with your child.
